Tom Ward composes songs that serve as tributes for special events including company anniversaries, personal milestones, retirements, and other occasions. His writing talents also extend to writing advertising jingles for radio and television advertisements, as well as songs for established performers.

Tom's four-song CD "Bridging the Years" includes songs that celebrate a company's 50th and 60th anniversaries ("50 Years for Alcan Kingston Works", "Bridging the Years"), and to celebrate an expansion at the plant ("Never Give Up"). Tom also wrote a song dedicated to Kingston ("At the Head of the St. Lawrence River"), the city where he formerly lived. On a separate recording, he also recorded a commemorative song for Remembrance Day ("Lest We Forget") which received local and CBC radio play.
