Tom Ward has been surrounded by music all of his life, influenced by music-loving and music-playing parents.

He taught himself the rudiments of guitar playing at the age of ten to accompany himself in his passion for singing. He was forming his first rock band, as a bass player and as a back-up vocalist, two years later in his hometown of Belleville with three friends.

"Former Band" History
The band went through several name changes, and member additions, through the next eight years, from The Electric Circus, to The Fog, through Tombstone Shade, and finally Creed (yes the original Creed). Tom withdrew from the band in 1975 after a year on the road while his friends continued to tour Canada and northeastern U.S., with both name changes and band member changes. They achieved success with an LP album with Capitol Records as the popular band "Photograph".

Interim Pursuits
In the meantime, Tom temporarily hung up his guitar and pursued an education in chemistry, ending up in Kingston, Ontario, working in industry. While in Kingston, he renewed his interest in singing, experimenting with "a cappella" singing in both choral and quartet groups, and played principal roles in several theatrical musical productions at Kingston's "Grand Theatre" and "Domino Theatre".

Solo Performer / Song Writer
By 1990, Tom's interest in songwriting and performing was rekindled and he was soon featured at Kingston area nightclubs as a singer-guitarist.

At the same time, Tom started writing music in all types of musical genres. As a solo artist, he developed an extensive repertoire, spanning decades of classic favorites, but focusing on the heyday of the folk and rock era of the sixties and seventies. In performance, Tom entertains audiences in an easy-going fashion and approachable manner, presenting classic hits from artists such as Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, America, The Eagles, The Beatles, Stan Rogers and countless others, with his superb vocal performances and fingerstyle guitar accompaniment. Mixed in with these recognizable, sing-along hits are Tom's own compositions, created in folk, rock, country and adult contemporary stylings.

Tom Ward also performs at church services, including Sunday masses, weddings, and other events.
